Conflict Coaching

PeProgressive_Logo_r5purplerhaps you’d like help with an on-going conflict, but don’t want to invite the other participant to the mediation table. Or maybe the other participant in the conflict has been invited to mediate, but refused. Perhaps you don’t feel comfortable with the idea of face-to-face mediation. Conflict coaching can be an excellent alternative.

Conflict coaching is a customized one-on-one approach to conflict resolution.  Whether you are gearing up for a single difficult conversation, looking for guidance, clarity and preparation for a contentious on-going situation, or desiring better conflict skills in all aspects of your life, Progressive Conflict Solutions can tailor conflict coaching to meet your needs.

She offered practical advice on how I can shift my style to create more satisfying outcomes when faced with conflicts.

Conflict coaching is designed to:

  • Define your conflict style,
  • Better understand and manage your reactions to conflict,
  • Clarify your goals, interests and priorities,
  • Anticipate others’ interests and responses,
  • Refine your position, and
  • Enhance your conflict communication.

Coaching can help you transition from fear of conflict to a position of competence and confidence that will help you reach your personal and professional goals.

Although my issues were not evident to my boss or co-workers, internalizing them was taking a physical toll on me.

Negotiation Coaching

Negotiation coaching is a useful tool in both your personal and professional relationships. It’s one thing to negotiate with a stranger who you will never see again. It’s another thing to negotiate with your spouse, colleague, boss, neighbor or other important adult in your life. A “take no prisoners” approach won’t work because it undermines trust, builds resentment, and weakens your long term relationship. And “giving in” doesn’t result in agreements that last or give a sense of respect between you and the other person.

If you want to get the best results in your negotiations — both in the terms of the agreement and in the nature of the relationship — then negotiation coaching can help you! Our services teach you negotiation strategies and tactics and are built on the same platform as our conflict coaching. How we help you prepare for a successful negotiation:

  • Clarify your goals, interests and priorities,
  • Anticipate others’ interests and responses,
  • Refine your position, and
  • Develop strategies and practice your approach so you can execute the negotiation with confidence.

She was able to quickly hone in on the essential components, and was also able to help me separate the facts and the necessary information from the emotional content.
